The Houthi group (Ansar Allah) said on Monday they launched attacks with number of drones on a military target in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, which is leading a military coalition against the group in support of legitimacy in Yemen.
The military spokesman of Houthi forces , Brigadier-General Yahya Saree said in a statement: "The drone air force carried out larg-scale offensive operation on an important military target in the capital of the Saudi regime Riyadh."
No immediate comment has been issued by the Saudi-led coalition or Yemeni government on the Houthi claim.
"The attack was launched with number of Sammad 3 drones, sustain direct wunds.", Saree stated.
Saree said that this operation is part of expanding targetin."
He renewed his call for civilians and companies to stay away from military and vital sites as they have become legitimate targets for their attacks.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas controlled by Houthi group (Ansar Allah).
Since mid-May, Houthis have intensified firing ballistic missiles and launching drone attacks on Saudi territory "in reply to coalition airstrikes that target Yemeni civilians and infrastructure."
