Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ahmed al-Maisari and Transport Minister Saleh al-Jibwani survived an assassination attempt on Monday in the southeastern province of Shabwa.
Media sources said that Al-Maisari and al- Jabbani survived an assassination"by a car bomb was discovered near one of the military crews accompanying the two minister" in Shabwa.
Security sources in Shabwa said that two people had been arrested trying to plant a bomb near the house of the governor of Shabwa, where the Yemeni interior and transport ministers reside.
In a speech two days ago in Shabwa to tribal figures and references in the city of Ataq, al-Maisari said, "We do not want a government controlled by one of the two parts of the Saudi ambassador, while an Emirati officer controls the other part."
Al-Maisari stressed that he did not accept any humiliating agreement, referring to the Jeddah agreement signed between the Yemeni government and the UAE-backed transitional council (STC).
