The Head of the UN-missioned Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) Hodeida, General Abhijit Guha, condemned violations of the ceasefire in the agreed areas.
In a statement posted by the Office of the United Nations Mission on its Facebook page, Juha called on all parties to support UN Mission for Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) and provide the necessary freedom of movement for UNMHA staff to do so.
He said: "We condemn any violations that occur in the areas agreed upon in the Hodeida Agreement, whether those violations in the air, at sea, or by land."
Juha stressed that all parties must abide by the ceasefire in Hodeida governorate as agreed in the Stockholm Convention in December 2018.
"The recent incidents have had a negative impact on the population of Hodeida province," Guha said, stressing that "we must refrain from doing so at all costs."
Guha urged the parties concerned to exercise restraint, avoid any escalation of the situation and continue to support ongoing efforts to maintain the ceasefire in Hodeida.
