The United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday that 55 percent of Yemen's population "has no access to clean water and sanitation."

The organization stated on its page on the "Twitter" that "about 20,000 patients a month are expected to have better access to water once rehabilitation is completed."

It explained that it is currently in the process of "ongoing rehabilitation of 7 water points in 3 hospitals and 4 health facilities in the province of Shabwa, southeast of Yemen."

The bloody power struggle in Yemen for more than four and a half years between the internationally recognized government and the Houthis (Ansar Allah) has affected various aspects of life, notably the health, water, sanitation and basic services sectors.
