A police chief of the province of Taiz, south of Yemen, survived an assassination attempt on Friday evening, as security committee continue to tarrest the outlaws accused of murder and reduce security chaos.
According to security source in Taiz the website of the Ministry of Defense in the Yemeni internationally recognized government reported that Brigadier General Mansour al-Akhali, police chief of the province of survived an assassination attempt in Taiz.
The source said that unknown gunmen opened fire on the convoy of the Brigadier General, as he passed near the Al-Baba Al-Kabeer area in the center of the city.
The General Administration of Taiz Governorate, condemned police assassination attempt, confirming its commitment to the decisions of the Security Committee, and to capture remaining defendant.
The security committee in Taiz province in southwest Yemen on Tuesday approved security measures to prevent violence including assassinations and remove all military camps from inside the city and send them to warfronts and that the security authorities will be in charge of preserving security in it.
In the same vein, dozens of people on Friday rioted in Al-Hurrya Square in the city of Taiz supporting of the security campaign launched by the local authority to arrest security suspects in the assassination cases involving soldiers in the army forces loyal to the "legitimate" government.
They chanted slogans in support of the continuation of the security campaign, and calls for continued cleansing of the city of outlaws.
According to Aden-based "Saba" News Agency, the Taiz police have announced that the security campaign to pursue armed outlaws has arrested two wanted security personnel and killed others in clashes between them and members of the campaign.
The neighbourhoods of Synah, Bab Musa and the old City have witnessed confrontations since yesterday evening following a security campaign to pursue armed groups outlaws accused of carrying out assassinations against military personnel and officers. A member of the security campaign was killed in clashes with outlaws.
For its part, accused Abu Abbas Brigades, the security committee to target its headquarters and positions of leadership and members of in the old city, noting that it is studying events and talking with the "legitimate" government and the Saudi-led Arab coalition.
The Brigades said in a statement read by the "Debriefer" News Agency: "Abu Abbas Brigades" said that the soldiers of the security campaign launched an attack on the Al-Maghara neighborhood and killed one of their elements, and raided a house of a relative of major Mohamed Najib Rushdie chief of Operations and the House of his grandfather, while talking about calm.
"We in the Abu Abbas brigades have no formal or local acceptance, even though we are among the first to fight for the city of Taiz and along with the various factions, and even though our members and elements belong to Taiz, they are an integral part of their social and civic component," the statement added.".
The Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan entrusted the commander of the Abu Abbas Brigades loyal to the UAE to implement four points related to the extradition of wanted militants and the lifting of militants and points in the city, and raise the checkpoint at the entrance to the city, in addition to the implementation of the decisions of the security committee.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas controlled by Houthis seen as proxy for Iran in the Arab Peninsula country.
The conflict has left hundreds of thousands killed or injured and 3 million displaced, pushing the country to the world's worst humanitarian crisis,according to the UN, with most of the population in need for a type of humanitarian aid and immediate protection, including 8.4 million people unsure how to get next meal, and some 2 million children suffering severe shortage of nutrition.
