A military committee arrived in the southern province of Aden on Friday to begin implementing the annex to military arrangements in the Riyadh agreement signed on November 5 between the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the UAE-backed southern transitional council, a Yemeni source said.
The source said that the committee, which came from the Saudi capital of Riyadh, includes officers from the Ministry of Defense in the "legitimate" Yemeni government and its task is to oversee the implementation of the military annex to the Riyadh agreement.
The source added that the committee will work to withdraw heavy and medium weapons and transfer them to camps under the supervision of coalition forces, and join forces to the ministries of interior and defense, according to the Riyadh agreement.
He explained that the committee will also rearrange the status of the first brigade presidential protection, and military brigades of the fourth military area and distributed on the front lines in coordination with the Arab coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia.
According to the source, the committee is headed by Brigadier General Transportation Protection Brigadier General Amjad Al-Qahtani and includes Major General Ahmed Al-Masoud, Brigadier General Tariq Al-Nassi and Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Dhaheri.
