The Houthi-run criminal court in the Yemeni northwestern governorate of Sa'ada on Wednesday convicted five people on charge of possessing 500 kilograms of drugs for trading purposes.
The primary judgment sentenced "the five convicts to 25 years in prison," stipulating the drugs be destroyed and the vehicles and funds the convicts had earned from trading in drugs be confiscated.
Houthi security authorities arrested the five people on 21 August 2018 in Takha area, Sa'ada governorate, in possession of half a ton of hashish, according to the Sana'a-based Saba.
