A new field advance has been made in Nati'e, the district general director said Tuesday, in coincidence with airstrikes by the Arab coalition in support of the Yemen government forces in the central governorate of Baydha.
"The government forces have seized several sites in Baydha, including al-Kibar Mont in al-Malajim district," Muse'id al-Salahi added in press release.
The advance was achieved following fierce battles fought by government forces against Houthi fighters, whose gatherings were hit by coalition raids, leaving human and material losses, he claimed.
"Clashes are still underway, with the army advancing," Salahi added.
The Saudi-led coalition aircraft on Tuesday launched 12 raids on Qania and Nati'e districts of Baydha, the Houthi-run al-Masyra TV reported without further details.
"Three army brigades have launched swift military operation in al-Malajim, Nati'e and Qania districts of Baydha," a military source said Monday, with participation of Arab coalition aircraft.
The operation saw the official army advancing in those areas and seizing key sites including the strategic mountain of Loban.
