Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Iranian-backed Houthi group on Tuesday criticized the UN and its Secretary General, threatening to break off relations with the international agency that added the group to its Shame List for violating child rights.
Antonio Guterres is "emotionally and morally mean", Houthi politburo said in an official statement, labeling the UN as "cheap horn".
The UN cut the last tie with the group, and declared itself as a party beside the Saudi-led coalition and allies in Yemen, according to the statement carried by the Sana'a-based Saba.
In his 2021 report issued last Friday, UN Guterres decided to re-blacklist the Houthis as a group violating child rights.
The UN verified 269 killings and 855 mutilations suffered by 1,124 children, the Secretary-General report said, blaming the incidents to the Houthis.
