Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Houthi group poses threat to Yemen's security and stability, the Saudi cabinet said late on Tuesday, hailing the US constant support for efforts to reach a political solution for the neighboring war-torn country.
In a statement after virtual meeting, the Saudi cabinet expressed rejection of Houthi hostile acts in the form of repeated missile and drone attacks at populated areas, airports and other civilian facilities in the Kingdom.
The statement welcomed the US commitment to cooperation with Saudi Arabia to defend its sovereignty, and Washington's constant support for efforts aimed at a political solution for Yemen based on the three terms of reference.
The Kingdom calls on the international community to bear responsibility for hostile practices posed by the Iranian regime against international security and peace, the statement said, accusing Tehran of violating international laws and conventions, interfering in Saudi affairs and supporting militias.
Countries most affected by Iran's threats should be a genuine party to any international negotiations on its nuclear program and its activity putting the regional security in jeopardy, according to the statement.
