SANAA (Debriefer)--The Houthi group on Tuesday claimed to have shot down a US-made reconnaissance drone, type ScanEagle, used by the Saudi-led coalition involved in Yemen.
It was shot down with a surface-to-air missile in the area of Al-Mashjah in Marib province while on a hostile mission, the group's military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said.
Days ago, the group said it shot down a similar drone in the province.
Neither the coalition, which has been fighting in Yemen since 2015, nor Yemen's internationally recognised government or the US embassy has commented on the claims.
The Iran-allied Houthis launched in February a military offensive to seize the oil-rich Marib which is the main stronghold of the government. The coalition has been supporting the government forces to counter them.
