SANAA (Debriefer)--The Houthi group on Tuesday organised a massive demonstration of children at the Al-Sabeen Square in downtown Yemen's capital Sanaa to protest keeping it on the UN list of shame.
Children carried pictures of Yemeni children who have been killed and injured in Saudi-led attacks.
Children also carried satirical caricatures of the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and chanted slogans condemning the positions of the United Nations and its participation in the crimes of the Saudi-led coalition against children in Yemen.
The UN has installed itself as an enemy of Yemeni children and has made all its agencies complicit in every crime against them, a statement by the children said.
The statement condemned removing the Saudi-led coalition from the UN list of shame, saying the US-backed coalition has been responsible for countless crimes against childhood in the country.
At least 7.000 children have been killed and wounded by coalition attacks, the Houthis say.
On Friday, the UN said it has kept the Houthi group on the list. The Houthis killed and maimed 250 children in 2020, it said.
The coalition was removed from the list last year because it took measures to protect children during military operations in the country, the UN said.
