Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Arab coalition forces have foiled a new attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi group targeting Saudi lands, the Saudi-led coalition said Tuesday in a brief statement.
Air defenses intercepted and destroyed a Houthi bomb-laden drone en route to Khamis Mushait, the statement added.
The Houthi group persists its hostile acts targeting civilian objects in the Kingdom, the statement read, noting that the coalition constantly takes operational measures to protect civilians.
Since the beginning of this week, the Houthis have stepped up their attacks on Saudi targets, using booby-trapped drones, after the US declared decrease in its troops and defense systems in the Kingdom.
Throughout six years of war, the Houthis targeted Saudi Arabia with 372 ballistic missiles and 659 drones, and fired more than 96,000 projectiles at Saudi borders, the Arab coalition said Monday.
