MARIB (Debriefer)--At least 37 fighters have been killed and dozens injured in raging battles between the forces of Yemen's internationally recognised government and the Houthis in the northeastern province of Marib, local sources said on Wednesday.

The government forces repelled Houthi assaults on their sites in the area of Al-Jafrah and launched counterattacks, killing 30 Houthi fighters, the sources said.

The Saudi-led coalition targeted Houthi positions and troops and provided air cover for the government forces, they said, adding that 7 government troops were killed, including Brig. Gen. Saleh Al-Rousa.

The Houthis also launched assaults against sites of the government forces in the districts of Madghal and Sirwah, the sources said.
