According to the UAE's newspaper " Al Bayan" the sources said the Head of the Coordination Committee for the redeployment, General Michael Lollesgaard, will meet with representatives of the "legitimate" government and representatives of the Houthis group (Ansar Allah) to discuss the completion of the implementation of the mechanism of redeployment from the three ports and verify this through a tripartite committee representing the parties and the United Nations before moving on to the steps related to arrangements Security in the ports and the city of Hodeida to the positioning of troops in agreed locations outside the city ..
The sources added that the United Nations proposes the withdrawal of troops to a distance of 30 kilometers from the center of the city of Hodeidah، which is still legitimate and rejects it and demands that there be placed on two spaces not exceeding 20 kilometers from the city center with the possibility of placing heavy machinery in the suburbs.
The Sources pointed out that this step will not take place until after the completion of the previous steps, in particular the verification of the withdrawal of the Huthis from the three ports and the separation of forces that will take over the ports and the city, and the delivery of maps of mines, and the opening of corridors and streets and the trenching and tunnels.
Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar met in Riyadh on Thursday with the head of the Coordination Committee for Re-deployment, Michael Lollesgaard lessard, and discussed with him the reservations of the government side on the steps taken at Hodeida ports and the need to abide by the agreed mechanism.
The Aden-based (Saba) news agency reported that the Yemeni Vice President stressed that there is guidance to the government team in the Committee to cooperate and work to ensure the success of the functions of the Chairman of the Coordination Committee for the redeployment in order to correct any imbalances and correct the implementation of the Hodeida agreement in accordance with the agreement of Sweden and in accordance with Yemeni law and meanings contained in the relevant UN resolutions.
The two sides agreed to redeploy their forces outside the ports of Hodeida, Al-Salif and Ras Isa and the city of Hodeida and to ceasefire as of January 7th. But nothing has been achieved on the group, with both sides trading blame for non-compliance with the terms agreed in Sweden.
But none of this has taken place so far, with both sides trading blames for trying to thwart the deal.
The city of Hodeida and its ports have been under Houthi control since late 2014, while Yemeni joint forces loyal to legitimate government and Arab coalition have massed since last November at the city's fringes seeking to retake the strategic port.
