The leader in the Houthi group (Ansar Allah), Abdulqader al-Murtada, announced on Wednesday that six of their prisoners were released in an exchange " via local mediation on the fronts of Karish in the provinces of Lahj and Marib."
The new release comes less than a week after al-Murtada announced the release of six of the group's prisoners in an exchange deal via local mediation.
On October 23, al-Murtada revealed the release of nine of the group's prisoners on the Jawf and Lahj fronts in two exchanges, through local mediation as well.
A report by the Houthis group (Ansar Allah) confirmed that since they established the prisoners' affairs committee in 2015, 7,000 prisoners from both sides of the conflict in Yemen have been released through exchanges through local mediation, including more than 600 prisoners since the Sweden consultations ended in mid-December 2018.
