The Minister of Transport in the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Saleh al-Jabwani, warned on Tuesday against the fall of the Marib Governorate, northeast of Yemen, in favor of the Ansar Allah group (Houthis).
Al-Jabwani called on the Yemeni government to "mobilize" to defend Marib and prevent it from falling, as Al-Jawf fell last Sunday.
Al-Jabwani said on his Twitter account: “The government of Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik with all its members must move immediately to Marib, hold a meeting of the ministry there and make Marib its headquarters and rally for the major battle with the Houthi militia.”
He added: "If the government does not take this step, it will resign to the president, because that is the simplest duty it will carry out at this critical moment after it took place in Al-Jawf."
Ansar Allah group (Houthis) took control of the city of Al-Hazm, the main center of the border province of Al-Jawf with Saudi Arabia, which is located in northern Yemen, last Sunday, after violent battles with government forces that lasted for several weeks.
