Hodeida (Debriefer) - The Yemeni joint forces on Saturday intercepted a truck carrying arms and ammunition heading to the Houthi group in the western governorate of Hodeida, the internationally-recognized government's forces said.
A patrol of the 11th Giant brigade seized a quantity of ammo and mortar shells on a truck travelling in al-Nojaiba square, to the south of Hais district, the Giant Brigades' media center said.
The captured shipment includes more than 122 canisters of live ammo and mortars en route to Houthis, it added.
The joint "forces had previously foiled similar smugglings of ammos, arms, chemical fertilizers and explosives heading for the Houthis," the center claimed.
Yemen has been plagued by a 5-year-old war pitting the internationally-recognized, Saudi-backed government against the Iranian-backed Houthi group.
