Hodeida (Debriefer) - A Houthi military leader has been killed in Bit al-Faqih district in the western governorate of Hodeida, the Yemeni government joint forces said Thursday, after his group targeted private farms and sniped a child.
The joint forces inspected gunfire of Houthi forces positioned in Bit al-Faqih while shooting al-Marazeeq village in the district, the Giant Brigade media center quoted a military source as saying.
"Houthi shooting left a 14-year child injured," he added. "Special mission unit traced moves of the Houthi leader who supervised the shooting, and shot him dead."
On Wednesday, joint forces snipers traced four Houthi fighters at frontlines and targeted them in al-Tohaita, south Hodeida.
Pro-government joint forces and Houthis trade blames for violating the ceasefire stemmed from the UN-brokered Stockholm Agreement inked in December 2018.
Following the deal, the UN Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) was deployed under a UN Security Council resolution that provided for a ceasefire and redeployment of both parties in the Red Sea city of Hodeida.
Last week, the UNSC extended the UNMHA mandate for one additional year, until 15 July 2021.
