MARIB (Debriefer)--A senior Yemeni army officer on Tuesday denied that prime minister Maeen Abdulmalik was involved in UAE airstrikes against the national forces in Aden last year.
Such accusations are aimed at creating a deep gap between Abdulmalik and the national national, said Brig. Gen. Abdu Mujali, the spokesperson for the army, following revelations by former transport minister Saleh Al-Jabwani that Abdulmalik and other officials gave a written authorisation to the UAE to strike the Yemeni forces.
Mujali urged to unite all efforts, align behind the political and military leadership and not to believe such rumors that could affect the course of the battles against the Houthis.
Al-Jabwani called on the Parliament to open an investigation into the UAE strikes that killed 300 Yemeni troops and injured many others on the outskirts of Aden in August last year.
