Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Houthi group has successfully finalized a new prisoner swap deal with the Yemeni official government, head of the Houthi prisoner panel tweeted on Wednesday, thanks to local mediation.
Five Houthi fighters were released on Wednesday from the government troops' captivity, Abdul Kader al-Murtadha added, without details on the number of government troops freed under the deal.
This tweet comes 24 hours after reports on delay of the prisoner negotiations' second phase, which was expected to start Thursday in Amman.
On the 15th and 16th of last October, the International Committee of Red Cross facilitated the largest prisoner swap between the two rivals since the war outbreak.
The swap saw 1,056 captives and detainees released from both sides, as part of a first phase that was said then to be followed by other phases.
