Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Arab Saudi-led coalition on Wednesday intercepted a Houthi bomb-laden unmanned aerial vehicle, spokesman for the coalition said.
The coalition's joint forces intercepted and destroyed a booby-trapped drone while heading for the southern area of Saudi Arabia, Turki al-Maliki added in a statement.
The Houthi group systematically sent the UAV to deliberately target civilian objects and civilians in the southern area of the Kingdom, he claimed.
No comment on the event has immediately been released by the Houthis.
On Monday, the coalition announced the interception and destruction of a drone flown by the Houthi group northward Saudi Arabia.
Houthis often target Saudi lands with ballistic missiles and drones, as part of what they say response to Arab coalition's airstrikes on Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas seized by the Iranian-backed Houthi group.
