Riyadh (Debriefer) - The UN slackens at Houthi obduracy to efforts for peace in Yemen, spokesman for the Yemeni official government said Tuesday.
All the government's efforts and positive dealing with UN calls and initiatives are met by Houthi obstinacy and elusion, Rjih Badi added in remarks carried by Asharq Al-Awsat.
Houthi obduracy is met by UN slack and flexible speeches that, out of bashfulness, deplored the crimes (recently committed by the group) in Taiz and Doraihimi, without naming the wrongdoer, though known by everyone, he claimed.
Unless Houthis are strictly rebuffed by the international community, the Yemeni's suffering will continue, Badi argued, calling for "positive dealing with the US administration's efforts to designate the Houthis as terrorist movement.
"We've no optimism. No positive sign has been shown by the Houthis since the draft joint declaration was introduced six months ago. They prevent the UN envoy's visit to Sana'a, and there is escalation in every military front.
"At secret meetings with diplomats, the Houthis say they want only military solution," the Yemeni official said.
