ADEN (Debriefer)--At least 78 people were killed and injured after three explosions rocked the Aden airport in Yemen's interim capital Aden on Wednesday. The explosions coincided with the arrival of the new government from the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Aljazeera quoted unnamed sources as saying that the director of the Almansoura prison was killed and deputy transport minister and deputy interior minister were injured in the explosions.
Other sources said civilians and soldiers were among the victims.
A flight carrying 22 ministers from the new government and the newly appointed military attaché at the Yemeni embassy in the United Arab Emirates Maj. Gen. Shalal Shaye'a arrived in the city earlier today.
Prime minister Maeen Abdulmalik said he and other members of the government were unhurt and transported to the Al-Maasheeq presidential palace safely.
Meanwhile, sources said the explosions could be drone attacks, artillery shells and explosive devices planted at the airport's hall.
