Aden (Debriefer) - Members of the Yemeni Parliament have called for all fight fronts be mobilized and for withdrawal from the Stockholm Agreement, citing the Houthi failure to abide by the UN-brokered deal that was signed in December 2018 between Yemen's official government and the group.
The Houthi group should not be given the chance to recollect its forces and confront government troops in the two northern governorates of Jawf and Marib, the MPs argued in a letter to President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
"We call upon you to send an urgent message to those who are concerned that the government has withdrawn from the Stockholm Agreement as the Houthi group has not abided by it since its signature," says the letter, which was published on Monday.
The Yemeni MPs accused the Houthis of using the Red Sea ports of Hodeida and Salif to smuggle ballistic missiles and drones and use them in its hostile acts.
The Yemeni government will be responsible for failure to fulfill the two demands, "which could be construed by the people as government's letting down the army in the face of the Houthis in Marib," the letter read.
