Aden (Debriefer) - Yemen on Sunday recorded the highest infections of Covid-19 in five months, according to the official government-run supreme committee to combat coronavirus.
The new nine cases occurred in Aden (four infections), Dhalea, Mahara, Shabwa and Hadhramout, the committee added in a statement on Twitter.
These bring the total infections in Yemeni government-held areas to 2,145, including 617 deaths and 1,430 recoveries, the committee said.
No figures are available for Covid-19 cases in Houthi-held areas, where the authorities deliberately conceal data on the pandemic.
Yemen is expected to receive its first shipment of anti-coronavirus vaccines next March, by help of Covax Initiative that assigned 2.316 million shots for the war-torn country.
