Marib (Debriefer) - Two Houthi drones have been downed in the Yemeni northeastern governorate of Marib, the UN-recognized government's troops said on Monday in a statement.
"The first plane was shot down in al-Kasara front, west Marib," the troops added, as the second was downed while "targeting a public market in the northern part of the same governorate, leaving civilian casualties."
Three civilians were wounded by shrapnel of the Houthi drone inside Marjaz Souk in Raghwan district, local source told the Aden-based Saba.
While no comment was released by the Iranian-backed Houthi group, the Yemeni information minister deplored "with strongest words the Houthi targeting of a public market.. using an Iranian-made drone."
The Houthi assault left civilian casualties, amid "persistent military escalation in different combating fronts across the governorate," Moammar al-Eryani added in a tweet.
