The Houthi arrest of the Yemeni former minister of culture discloses the group's real position at peace and its political and military persistent escalation, the Yemeni official government said Saturday, following calls for de-escalation and confidence-building steps.
"Houthis arrested my father half an hour ago," Wadhah al-Roaishan, son of Minister Khalid al-Roaishan, wrote on Facebook early on Sunday, without further details on reasons behind.
"The brutal arrest of al-Roaishan from his house [in Sana'a] reflects how this gung lacks all humane values and morals," the Yemeni information minister said.
This act is one of "thousands of arrests that affected political and social figures, journalists and activists. It mirrors the Houthi criminal mindset disregarding people's lives and unaccepting others' opinions or any voice that opposes their practices against human rights," Moammar al-Eryani added.
He called the international community and the UN to condemn this "crime that unveils the real stance of Iran's mercenaries at peace and its political and military persistent escalation in response to calls and efforts for de-escalation and confidence-building steps, at top of which the release of all abductees from the group's jails."
