Jawf (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official government troops on Wednesday shot down a Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the northern governorate of Jawf bordering Saudi Arabia, the defense ministry's september.net said Thursday.
Positioned in Khab & Sha'af district to the east of Jawf, the troops downed a Houthi spying drone that tried to film army's sites, the website added, without details on the plane model.
The ministry accused the Houthi group of increasingly sending explosive and espionage drones, after suffering severe losses throughout the last weeks in Jawf.
The troops shot down against destroyed these UAVs, according to the website.
Since the beginning of this October, Jawf governorate has seen intense hostilities pitting the government troops and Houthi fighters.
