Marib (Debriefer) - Saturday witnessed persistent hostilities pitting the Yemeni national army and the Houthi group in many fronts south and west the northeastern governorate of Marib.

The battles lasted from Friday until early hours of Saturday, military sources said, after both sides exchanged massive attacks on each other.

The Houthis launched an offensive on government troops' sites in al-Hadba'a and Athlat Baqtha hill between Murad Mont and Rahabah districts south Marib, military sources in the governorate said.

The government troops carried out military operations in the southern fronts of Murad, Madghal and Makhdara, and made great advancement in Murad, the sources added, amid air coverage from the Saudi-led coalition warplanes.

The governorate's western fronts of Sirwah and Hailan Mont saw similar fighting, with the national army intensely shelling Houthi sites in Madghal, the sources said.

"The clashes and airstrikes left [indefinite number of] Houthi fighters killed or injured and vehicles and equipment destroyed," according to the sources.
