Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen early on Sunday announced the interception of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sent by the Houthi group northward Saudi Arabia.The coalition joint forces on Sunday morning intercepted and destroyed a bomb-laden drone deliberately fired by the Houthis to target civilian objects and civilians in Saudi southern area, coalition spokesman, Turki al-Maliki, said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On Saturday, spokesman for Asir civil defense said shrapnel fell on civilians and civilian objects in Sarat Abida and one civilian was injured after a Houthi UAV was intercepted, according to SPA.
The shrapnel left slight injury to a Saudi civilian and damages to 5 houses and 3 civilian vehicles, Captain Mohamed Bin Abdu Assayed added.
Earlier on Saturday, the Arab coalition said its defenses shot done a Houthi drone en route southern area.
The Houthis previously said they targeted the two Saudi airports of Jizan and Abha and the airbase of Khamis Mushait, using Kasif K2 drones.
