MARIB (Debriefer)--Battles between the government and Houthi forces on Saturday intensified in western and southern parts of Yemen's Marib province as the Houthis have changed their attack strategy.
More Houthi reinforcements have arrived in the western parts where the Houthi group is seeking to make a breakthrough amid its heavy losses in the east and south.
It is seeking to surround oilfields and suffocate the province which is home to the leadership of the government's army.
The government forces backed by tribal fighters repelled an infiltration attempt by the Houthis into their positions in the areas of Al-Jada'an, Najd Al-Ataq and Al-Makhdarah in the west, the sources said.
Dozens of fighters from both sides were killed and injured, the sources said, adding that four Houthi fighters were captured in the clashes.
A Saudi-led coalition fighting in the country targeted Houthi forces and positions in support of the government forces, according to government military sources.
