Sana'a (Debriefer) - More than 80,000 children and women lost their lives as a result of the Sana'a airport's closure by the Saudi-led coalition, the Houthi minister for transport said Wednesday.
All humanitarian agencies and the international community are called to press for ending the blockade and resuming the flights to fro Sana'a airport, Zakariah al-Shami added, dubbing the closure as "human crime.
"Ordered by the Saudi defense ministry, the closure did not consider any human right. It represents a flagrant violation of all international conventions."
54,000 patients suffer from chronic diseases and need to travel abroad for treatment, and 4 million expatriates cannot return home, the Houthi official claimed.
The longer Sana'a airport is closed, the more Yemenis die, he added.
