Yemeni Hadi reiterates commitment to peace course based on references

Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Yemeni legitimate government is committed to political solutions aimed at stopping the 6-year war in accordance with the three terms of reference, Yemen's President said on Thursday.
At meeting with the US special envoy for Yemen, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi assured Timothy Linder King that he would support his mission aimed to achieve peace sought by Yemenis.
All peace efforts unfortunately often face huge obstructions made by the Houthis and their supporters in Tehran, Hadi added in the presence of his deputy Ali Muhsin al-Ahmar, Foreign Minister Ahmed Bin Mubarak and the US ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel.
The Houthi group persistently targets innocents, besieges Marib governorate using Iranian missiles and drones, and attacks civilians and IDPs in Marib and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia, he said citing the recent attack on Abha airport.
"We feel the new US administration is more familiar with the Yemeni file thanks to their supervision over Yemen's peaceful transition, under which the GCC Initiative was crafted," Hadi added, recalling the National Dialogue Conference and the draft constitution "to which all the Yemeni society's components and spectra."
The Yemeni President highlighted the importance of the US support for Yemen to cope with challenges and help the Riyadh Agreement's successful application.
The US diplomat hailed the Yemeni official government's efforts and clear stances at peace sought by the Yemeni people, recalling his visits to the country during the National Dialogue.
He reiterated his country's support for the legitimate government and allies in Saudi Arabia against the Houthi repeated attacks, according to the Riyadh-based Saba.
Washington agrees with the "your description of Iran's negative role in Yemen" that resulted only in further tension, conflict and instability, King added.
The US seeks to make peace and reach constant deal ending the war, in cooperation with all the partners so as to maintain Yemen's unity, security and stability, the US envoy said.
