MARIB (Debriefer)--The government forces on Thursday at least 37 Houthi fighters including senior leaders were killed in an ambush in the Mushajah area in Yemen's northeastern province of Marib.
The national forces and popular resistance laid several ambushes for Houthis in the Mushajah, Al-Makhdarah and Serwah front lines, the mouthpiece of the defence ministry, 26 September website, reported.
Separately, the government forces said they had shot down a Houthi reconnaissance drone in the area of Al-Makhdarah.
Battles have been raging in the province for five days as the Houthis are attempting to seize the oil-rich Marib.
