Marib (Debriefer) - No less than 30 Houthi fighters have been killed in Yemen's northeastern governorate of Marib, the Yemeni official armed forces' media center said Thursday.
"The national army heroes early on Thursday waited in ambush for Houthi throngs that tried to infiltrate into military sites in Hailan," the center added.
The operation left more than 30 Houthis killed, it said. No official remark has immediately been issued by the Houthi group.
Marib is witnessing fierce fighting between the Yemeni UN-recognized government troops and the Houthis who seek to take control of the oil-rich governorate.
Earlier, the national army said its troops fended off a Houthi suicide attack aimed at military sites in the same district, leaving human and ordnance losses.
