Marib (Debriefer) - Battles between the Yemeni official government troops and the Houthi fighters on Tuesday left 30 deaths in the northeastern governorate of Marib.
The Houthis launched a massive attack on government military sites in Majzar district northwest Marib city, Yemeni military source said, sparking hours-long battles, according to the Sputnik International.
Backed by tribesmen, the government troops waited in ambushes during the battles in the two valleys of Naba'a and Halalan and Mahzam Mass in Majzar, as Arab coalition warplanes bombed Houthi reinforcements and gatherings, the source added.
The fighting left 19 Houthis and 11 government troops and allies killed, in addition to tens of injures from both sides, he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the government army-run media center quoted a military source as saying that the army and public resistance fended off a Houthi attack near al-Jawf crossroads, to the northwest of Marib.
Scores of Houthi fighters were killed or injured in the attempted attack, the source added.
Since the beginning of last February, Marib has seen the fiercest fighting following a Houthi offensive from three fronts, in an attempt to seize the oil-rich governorate.
