Marib (Debriefer) - A large number of Houthi fighters have been killed or injured in an ambush by the government troops in the Yemeni northeastern governorate of Marib, the 26september.net said late on Tuesday.
Backed by tribesmen, the national army trapped a large group of Houthis in one of al-Mashjah's sites, west Marib, and launched a surprise attack, leaving all the group's elements killed or injured, the defense ministry-run website added.
Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted Houthi sites in the same front, inflicting them human and ordnance losses, the website reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, the government troops said [indefinite] number of Houthi fighters were killed and wounded in an attack attempted by the group targeting the army's sites in al-Kasara and al-Mashjah fronts.
Arab coalition aircraft carried out "precise airstrikes" on Houthi reinforcements, leaving huge losses in lives and weaponry, they added.
According to Houthi media, the coalition targeted Nakhla Valley in Sirwah district in Marib with 14 raids, without further details on the targets affected by the bombing.
