Aden (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official government-run emergency committee on Friday recorded 36 new infections of Covid-19.
The new coronavirus cases were seen by seven Yemeni governorates; 18 in Taiz, 6 in Hadhramout, 4 in Aden, 3 in Shabwa, 2 in each of Abyan and Marib, and one in Dhalea.
Eight people died of the pandemic, the committee tweeted, noting that 3 deaths were registered in each of Lahj and Shabwa, and two in both Hadhramout and Taiz governorates.
The war-torn country recorded 61 recoveries; 24 in Hadhramout, 20 in Taiz, 17 in Mahara, according to the committee.
With these figures, coronavirus cases increase to 6,056, including 1,165 deaths and 2,454 recoveries.
Among its precautious measures against the novel virus, the committee on Thursday announced temporary pause of flights flying Yemenis to India as of Friday until later notice.
Return flights from India to Yemen will continue as scheduled, the committee said in a statement seen by Debriefer.
