Riyadh (Debriefer) The Saudi-led coalition on Tuesday said its forces foiled a new attack attempted by the Iranian-backed Houthi group using bomb-laden drones en route to the Kingdom.
Air defenses intercepted and destroyed two booby-trapped drones through which the Houthi group tries to target the Saudi southern city of Jizan, the coalition said in a brief statement.
This is the second Houthi attempt aimed at Saudi lands in nearly 24 hours.
On Monday, the Arab coalition said its defenses intercepted a Houthi explosive drone heading for Khamis Mushait.
The Houthis have recently stepped up their attacks on Saudi territories, as part of their "response to airstrikes targeting Yemen."
Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas captured by the Houthi group.
