Aden (Debriefer) The Yemeni official government on Tuesday reshuffled its negotiating panel, adding representatives from the Southern Transitional Council (STC), political and media sources said.
The government formed a new team to negotiate with the Houthi group, a Yemeni politician said, with FM Ahmed Bin Mubarak chairing the team that includes four members representing the Islah Party, Nasserite Party, politburo of the National Resistance (Guards of the Republic), and the Emirati-backed STC.
The other four members will represent the four governorates of Aden, Hadhramout, Marib and Sa'ada, the politician added in remarks carried by the Sputnik International.
The government took this move following UN and international pressures to resume negotiations with the Iranian-backed Houthi group, he said.
According to Yemeni media, the new team comprises Bin Mubarak, Abdul Malik al-Mikhlafi, Nasser al-Khobbaji, Ali Ashal, Yasmine al-Qadhi, Abdullah Abu Horriah, Abdul-Khaliq Bishr, Abdurrahman Sheikh and Mohamed al-Amrani.
