Emirati armored vehicles were used in August attack on the Yemeni southeastern governorate of Shabwa, Governor Mohamed Saleh Bin Edio said Tuesday, warning that the government forces would decisively respond to assassinations, bombings of pipelines and chaos acts.
On the "Second Anniversary of Liberating Bihan" from the Houthi group, the governor accused [unnamed] parties of attempting to "thwart every effort, impede every move and put obstacles on the road. Still, they pointed arms at their brothers' faces," signaling at the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council.
"They attacked the provincial capital [of Shabwa] with great masses of Emirati armored vehicles for some of which the army heroes were in desperate need while liberating Bihan.
"Shabwa people foiled bets on the governorate's takeover, and very responsibly dealt with that conspiracy," Bin Edio said.
