Warring parties trade accusations of breaching ceasefire in Hodeidah

HODEIDHA (Debriefer)--The Houthi group on Friday accused the pro-government forces of military escalation in Yemen's western province of Hodeidah.
At least 371 breaches of the ceasefire by the joint forces were reported in the past 24 hours, including artillery shelling and drone operations in the districts of Al-Tuhayta and Al-Durayhimi, the Houthi-run Saba news agency reported, quoting a military source.
The UAE-backed joint forces include the Giant Brigades, the Guards of the Republic and the Tihamah Resistance.
The Houthis breached the ceasefire 112 times on Wednesday, the information centre of the Giant Brigades said, adding that the breaches included artillery shelling and rocket attacks on populated areas and farms in Al-Tuhayta, Al-Durayhimi and Hays and the area of Kilo 16.
Fighting between the two sides intensified in September, threatening the fragile ceasefire which was agreed at UN-sponsored talks in Sweden in late 2018.
The UN has expressed concerns over the renewed violence and urged a cessation of hostilities and commitment to the Hodeidah agreement.
