Riyadh (Debriefer) - Yemen and the United States commonly face terrorism and the Iranian interferences in Yemen and the region, President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi said Tuesday at meeting with the US special envoy, Eliot Brahms, and ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel in Riyadh.
Yemen's President hailed the strategic relations between his country and the US in the face of a group of "common challenges linked to terrorism and the Iranian interferences in Yemen and the region," according to the Riyadh-based Saba.
He said he would not tolerate the exportation of the Iranian approach to Yemen, in order to preserve his country's unity and to enhance the global shipping security in Bab al-Mandeb, Hadi added.
Through its strategy, Iran always seeks to control the two straits of Hermes and Bab al-Mandeb so as to rule navigation, and "this what we warned of early."
The Yemeni government and the Saudi-led coalition accuse Iran of supplying the Houthis with weapons smuggled via territorial waters, including ballistic missiles.
Yemen has been racked by a 6-year war pitting the internationally-recognized government against the Iranian-backed Houthi group since September 2014.
