Mocha (Debriefer) - The Yemeni internationally-recognized government on Tuesday called on the United Nations to start serious probe into the killing of one its liaison officers delegated to the UN-led Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) in Hodeida.
At a meeting with the UN Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) in Mocha, the Yemeni government RCC delegation reiterated call for UNMHA office to be moved to a neutral place intermediating the two rivals.
The Houthi military escalation in the western coast (Doraihimi, Hodeida city and Hais) discloses a comprehensive plot to blow up the Stockholm Agreement, head of the RCC government team said.
The Houthis fired missiles at al-Manzar quarter in Hodeida city, "rage a genocide war against Hais people and cause an increase in civilian casualties, Mohamed Aidha added in remarks carried by the Giant Brigades' media center.
"This means the group doesn't want peace," he said, urging the UNMHA to do its part in applying the Hodeida deal away from "Houthi pressures".
The pro-government joint forces are committed to the Stockholm pact, Hodeida ceasefire and self-control, Aidha said, accusing the Houthis of reneging their obligations under the deal.
Last March, the liaison officer, Mohamed al-Solaihi, was killed by Houthi gunfire, pushing the government to suspend participation in the RCC meetings.
At Sunday meeting with the Houthi delegation, the UNMHA said these meetings aim to push joint work towards the application of ceasefire at the provincial level in Hodeida.
