Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi-led coalition early on Saturday said its forces shot down a Houthi booby-trapped drone heading to Saudi lands.
The coalition's joint forces intercepted and destroyed a Houthi bomb-laden drone, spokesman for the Arab coalition said in a statement.
The Houthi group fired the plane in a systematic way to deliberately target civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom's southern area, Turki al-Maliki added.
On Thursday and Friday, the Arab coalition announced the interception and destruction of five booby-trapped drones sent by Houthis towards the Kingdom.
On Wednesday, the Houthi group vowed to take violent steps against Saudi Arabia in the coming few days.
Foreign companies based in the Kingdom are urged to depart as soon as possible, the group's military spokesman tweeted.
All the civilians (Saudis and foreigners) need to keep away from areas near vital military and economic facilities, Yahiya Sarei added. "All these sites will be legitimate targets" for the Houthi forces.
The Houthis repeatedly fire ballistic missiles and drones at Saudi areas, in "response to the coalition's persistent raids" targeting their sites across Yemen.
Yemen has been racked by an armed conflict pitting the internationally-recognized government against the Iranian-backed Houthis since September 2014.
The conflict escalated after a Saudi-led coalition intervened militarily in the country in March 2015 to reinstate the government of President Hadi.
