RIYADH (Debriefer)--The Yemeni government has warned of increasing terrorist activities the Houthi group is carrying out under Iranian instructions in the Red Sea.
Information minister, Muammar Al-Eryani, said in a series of tweets on Saturday using unmanned boats laden with explosives and laying naval mines prove the Houthis are implementing Iranian agendas to spread chaos and terrorism in the region.
These terrorist activities have increased since the officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Hassan Eyrlo arrived in the capital Sanaa, he said, pointing out that such activities are not only threatening Yemen but also its neighbours and international oil supply routes. Iran appointed Eyrlo as its envoy to Sanaa last month.
He called on the international community, especially the five permanent members in the United Nations Security Council, to do their job and defend international peace and security from Iran-backed militias.
Lately, a Saudi-led coalition fighting in support of the internationally recognised government accused the group of threatening international waterways in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and south of the Red Sea.
Our forces removed more than 157 naval mines that were randomly laid in the south of the sea, it said in a statement carried by Alarabiya TV.
On Wednesday, it destroyed two Houthi boats laden with explosives that were launched at the Jazan oil products terminal.
