ADEN (Debriefer)--Many filling stations in Yemen's interim capital Aden have shut down because of acute fuel shortages.

Local sources said the shutdowns have occurred in the past 48 hours, although fuel is available in large quantities in the black market.

The Yemeni petroleum company has not commented on the reports.

Last week, the petroleum company in the Houthi-controlled Sanaa said the fuel crisis in the north was over after more than 129.000 tons of fuel arrived at Hodeidah seaport.

Locals said filling stations reopened three days ago and that long queues of cars that used to be seen at filling stations across Sanaa have disappeared.

Shortages of fuel and cooking gas have sporadically been reported in Yemeni cities either those controlled by the Houthis or the government and factions backed by a Saudi-led coalition. Sometimes they are contrived or resulted from high costs of transportation.
