RIYADH (Debriefer)--The Yemeni government on Monday reiterated its commitment to the UN-sponsored peace process and its keenness to reach a comprehensive political solution based on the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the national dialog conference and the UN resolutions.
Foreign minister, Mohammed Al-Hadhrami, said the government is keen to resume the talks with the Houthi group on prisoners until all prisoners, including journalists, activists and senior officials mentioned by the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, are released under the all for all principle.
At a meeting with deputy UN envoy to Yemen, Maeen Sharim, he stressed the importance of placing further pressure on the group to allow UN experts to access the decaying Safer oil tanker and assess its condition.
The UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, has recently intensified its efforts to convince the warring parties to accept a draft Joint Declaration aimed at ending the six-year conflict which has caused the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
