Marib (Debriefer) - An al-Qaeda militant was killed on Monday when an unmanned aerial vehicle (thought to be US) launched an airstrike in the Yemeni northeastern governorate of Marib.
The man was bombed while riding a motorcycle in al-Wadi district in Marib, a source in Marib local authority told Sputnik International.
"The airstrike left the targeted element killed and his cycle burnt," he added, but it was difficult to identify the dead.
No official statement has immediately been issued by Yemeni authorities.
On 27 October, a similar bombing on a car of al-Qaeda killed two militants in the same district.
US drones sporadically carry out raids targeting Qaeda leaders and elements in some Yemeni areas, where the group exploited the war to thrive.
